Importer Security Filing (aka. 10+2 filing)
US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) began enforcing ISF in 2010, and have started penalizing since July 2, 2013.
The ISF requires importers, using ocean transportation that call a US port directly, to provide ten additional data elements to CBP. Like Customs entries, either a single transaction bond or a continuous bond is required for ISF transactions. Carriers are required to submit two additional data elements.
